A long history of quality

The certification system of Sarda Affumicati ensures to the consumer that the entire production process is carefully monitored, complies with national and international regulations, and guarantees full traceability throughout the supply chain, starting from the sourcing of raw materials. In addition to the certification of the company’s quality system according to the ISO 9001 standard for the production and marketing phases of mullet roe and tuna, Sarda Affumicati has obtained the BRC Food Safety Standard, recognized in over 100 countries worldwide. It has successfully undergone certification of its products according to the International Food Standard (IFS), a system developed by operators in the retail sector in France, Germany, and Italy, which has over time become an international standard for verifying private label food products of distributors, retailers, and wholesalers. Also adopted by the main Italian trade associations, this standard is applied in all stages of the production and processing chain of raw materials from fishing, agriculture, and breeding. The requirements imposed on the producer refer to quality management systems, HACCP methodology, and a set of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), and GHP (Good Hygiene Practice) requirements. Thanks to this rigorous supplier selection, the world of GDO (Grande Distribuzione Organizzata, which translates to Organized Large-Scale Retail) can always ensure compliance with food quality and safety requirements, as well as full adherence to the legal regulations governing the sector.
